One of the most common questions we get is: "if you don't have a restaurant, where do we eat?" Honest answer: better than at most hotels with restaurants, and for less. 95 Lodge sits in a residential Lat Phrao soi with serious food infrastructure within walking distance — and an empty fridge in every room.
Why we don't run a restaurant
Hotel restaurants serve the same hotel breakfast at the same hotel price every morning. We made a choice: no restaurant, no resort fee, and the savings stay with you. The neighbourhood does the food better than we ever could.
The five everyday options around the lodge
- 7-Eleven — closest convenience store. Hot drinks, sandwiches, microwaved meals, water, fruit, late-night essentials.
- Tops supermarket — for groceries, household items, a small ready-to-eat section.
- Foodland Lat Phrao — open 24 hours; full supermarket plus the famous in-store restaurant Took Lae Dee. See our Foodland write-up.
- Local Thai shops on Lat Phrao Road — noodles, rice plates, isaan grills. Most under 80 THB. Order with photos or by pointing.
- Coffee, bakery and cafés — several within walking distance for slower mornings.
Why an empty in-room fridge changes everything
This is the trick most hotels skip. Our rooms come with an empty fridge — no mini-bar charges, no stocked items. You get to use it for:
- Patient or family medication on hospital stays.
- Foodland leftovers stored for a second meal.
- Fresh fruit, yoghurt, water and Thai sweets you actually like.
- Imported items the supermarkets stock — beer, cheese, fresh juice.
Combined with daily housekeeping the fridge is the most-used "amenity" we offer. Read more about our services and how they work.
A typical day of eating around 95 Lodge
- Morning: walk to the local coffee shop or grab tea and toast at 7-Eleven; sometimes Took Lae Dee at Foodland for a bigger Thai-American breakfast.
- Lunch: rice plate or noodles at a local shop on Lat Phrao Road for under 100 THB.
- Afternoon snack: fruit from Foodland, kept cold in your room fridge.
- Dinner: street food on Soi 6 or a sit-down meal at The Mall Bangkapi food court with 30+ stalls.
- Late night: 7-Eleven for water and a snack, or Foodland 24/7 if you want a full meal at 2 am.
Long stays: how to eat well for two weeks
For long-stay guests, the rhythm of cooking-but-not-cooking is the trick:
- Stock the fridge once a week from Foodland or Tops.
- Eat one meal a day from a local Thai shop (cheap, varied).
- Use the fridge for fruit, yogurt, drinks and any leftovers.
- Save the in-room space for what you actually want to eat — not what the mini-bar pushes.
FAQ
Is there really no restaurant on site?
Correct. There is no on-site restaurant — and we keep our rates lower because of it.
What if I arrive at midnight hungry?
Foodland is open 24/7 a few minutes away, and 7-Eleven is even closer.
Can I bring food back into my room?
Yes. Every room has an empty fridge — use it freely for your own food and drinks.
Do you have any breakfast included?
No, and we keep our rates lower because of it. Local breakfasts run 50–150 THB and are better than most hotel buffets.
